Pictures may be deceiving as to size and the exact color because of different photographic
conditions and the transfer to web pages. However, efforts are made to try to capture the color close
to the original and to show both quality and detail. Basket size should always be taken from the text
and not assumed from the picture.
The identification of baskets by exact tribe can sometimes be difficult when tribal ranges are close, as
in California. I have indicated a geographic local for basket identification unless the exact Tribe is
known from provenance. No guarantee is made concerning exact tribal origin. I attempt to make the
proper identification when possible. The condition is good to excellent unless otherwise noted.
